WEEK 5: Accountability
This week we focus on accountability which can not only improve your physical fitness but also further develop resilience and self-discipline that we spoke about last week, which can in turn benefit multiple areas of your life!
It’s a commitment to your health and wellness that can be achieved by setting specific goals, tracking your progress and possibly enlisting a workout partner or trainer who can offer support and encouragement. Accountability in the gym involves being disciplined and finding ways to stay on track, addressing setbacks and staying consistent.
When you hold yourself accountable, you take responsibility for showing up to your workouts, sticking to your training plan, and pushing through challenges.
Make time for your health and wellness now, so you don’t have to make time for illness later: We want to encourage you to take personal responsibility for your own health. If you can develop this internal motivation and drive you are far more likely to stay committed to your routines even when external support its lacking. Having said that, a training partner, group training environment or support network has multiple social and mental health benefits and can certainly help with your motivation, consistency and enjoyment of exercise!

Wk 5 Physical Habits:
- Track your workouts this week and get into the habit of recording your distances, speeds, weights and reps.
- Attend 1-3 strength sessions this week and if you’ve been consistent with your training use this week as an opportunity to test your best effort or max weight over 6-10 reps on your squat, bench, deadlift and chin up to set a marker for where you are at right now, and where you want to be.
- Workout with a friend this week! Motivate each other to turn up and get the most out of the workout. At the very least you’ll have some fun and catch up in a positive and healthy environment.
Wk 4 Mental Habits:
- Set clear objectives or goals which will assist with motivation and progress checks to achieving them. If you need a hand setting or sticking to these reach out!
- Visualise and positively reinforce what it would look like to achieve your health and wellness goals and how this would feel! Use this feeling and visualistaion regularly, so that it rewires your brain, motivates you and drives you to success.
